i can't take a picture to save my life...

okay...

thanks to everyone who commented on the baltimore blog--we had a great time and wish you ALL coulda been there! my pal, leaf (christian), asked if we could all see a pic of the beautiful "by thy side!" pins that john higashi has made and i remembered (as i was trying to take it) that i can't take a picture to save my life!!
actually, i'm not that bad, but i have yet to discover how to get my digital camera to get in as close as i need for that small and detailed a photo. (which is why i still haven't been able to sell that engagement ring on ebay for the past four years...)(but that's another story...)(which i'm not gonna tell, so don't ask.)(but if anyone's looking for a really nice engagement ring...)

anyway, here's the best i could do...
(apologies to john. they are wonderful!)

(oh...! here's a version of it that colin directed me to [thanks, colin!] from john higashi's own art site...)

(much better...!)

also after i--and scott--commented on my stray hair in those pictures, brian mulcahy told me that he thought that not only MY hair, but his and craig's as well, looked weird in the pic we took with HIS camera...

and last but not least, for those of you who didn't see it posted over on craig's site, here's another one of the "lost covers" from the portfolio that craig did for the show.

i'll post another on friday.
so be here, aight?

smell ya later!

John H has a good close up pic of the pin on his CAF site (http://cafurl.com?i=5930).

Just one more reason I wish I'd been able to go to Baltimore.

The pins were a great touch for the show. I'm kinda pissed I totally forgot about, and missed, the tribute poster that was out there too. And the hair now looks a lot better with the fix-up. Right on bruthas(and sistah)!

That pin is wonderful! It's even in Mike's font. Heartbreaking and touching at the same time. I'm going to wear mine every day.

Thanks for the much-needed laffs, Todd. I'm still chuckling over the 'fros.

Excellent. Thanks for sharing, Todd. Will they be available along with the Lost Covers via the web?

Kudos on the Pulp Fiction 'fro pic, too. Where's the Colt 45? Some duece-dueces at least. Sheeeeeet!

That's the perhapa-crew circa 1978. If Sharon were on roller-skates, you'd be set.

Groovy picture!

I'm glad I was able to pick up one of the pins. That was a great thing for John Higashi to do.

I knew what was coming with the pic and I still laughed.

As for the pins, I've got mine on as I type. The groovy dudes and hip chicks at the 'Haps booth moved all of their pins and I don't believe that John H. had any left by the end of the show, but you never know.

Great stuff. Seeing those pictures from Baltimore Con really remind me of Baltimore Con. It makes it seem like we were just there only 4 days ago.

Randy,

You made me laugh out loud. Deadpan is so hard to do on the web, but you nailed it.
