after the tinsel...

okay...
still enjoying that christmas coma--it's snowing here, the kids (jake and kayla) are sleeping by the fire, everybody's enjoying another day off, the extended holiday...

so this post is going to be brief and colorful--i hope.
we had a wonderful christmas and i hope you did too!
i'm now doing my best to make the season and the spirit last. (i hate it that the christmas carols immediately disappear from the radio stations the minute december 26th comes round--and the stores have torn down all the christmas decorations and are already pimping valentine's day...)
i received a lot of cool loot for christmas and a few special things that i'll post later this week.
but here are a few pics that i thought i'd share as we try to keep that friendly christmas-y brotherly vibe going...

my favorite christmas card this year...
...and the funniest!

hundreds gather to protest global warming

a facebook friend sent this over to me...

and now that i'm writing marvel super hero squad! (or mshs! as we call it in the biz...), i'm also, sadly, collecting them. well, some of them anyway. well, i had to pick up some of my favorite characters (spidey, the thing, wolverine, electro...) and a few of the "rare" squaddies (we call them that too...) here are a couple of the hard-to-get squaddies i got for christmas...

i also got a fantastic four thing with (exclusive!) white boots--which looks so much like the way mike drew him that i had to have 'im!

hope you're still able to relax and sustain that holiday feeling!
smell ya later!

Matt and Suzanne's card it great, the global warming is hilarious and thanks for sharing Neal Adams's holiday version of DC's big 3.

We took down most the the Christmas decorations the day after, but have left up all the snowmen, snowwomen, the outdoor lights and the tree inside with its lights. We try to keep the tree lighted until New Year's Eve, but we got is Dec. 4th this year and it is starting to really dry out, so it might be headed to the curb a little early this year.

We keep our decorations up until at least New Year's Day. It's bad luck to take them down before that!

Love the card, love the pic, love the record cover.

I collect Marvel Super Hero Squad figures! I have them set up according to group -- Dr. Strange, Submariner, Hulk, and Silver Surfer all share the Defenders cubby. I have Daredevil, Elektra, Black Cat, and Spidey set up together because I think that would make a neat double date. Wolverine, Punisher, and Ghost Rider share the badass cubby. The Fantastic Four are set up around Galactus. There's an X-Men cubby (with a different Wolverine) and an Avengers Cubby with Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor. There are more, but most of them are still in the packages.

Oh our tree is still up and the decorations are still up and will remain that way until New Years weekend. :-)
but I was in Rite-aid today and they DID have valentines stuff already!! sheesh!!

I LOVE the Nightcrawler squaddy (is that the correct word? *smile*) - Nightcrawler was always my favorite!!

Glad to hear you had a lovely Christmas. Hope you have all the best in health, wealth, and the happiness in the New Year!! (and that goes out to everyone here in the Perhaps family)

hilarious card, the picture and record cover are really cool.

Christmas comes and goes way too fast... we try to hold on to that holiday spirit for as long as possible. Our decorations stay up well into the end of the first week of January! My kids wouldn't have it any other way!! :)

The stores around here are all getting ready for Valentine's Day celebration. It is all about the Benjamin!!

Have an Amazing New Year everyone!!
